Company Profile
Weening Brothers Mfg. Inc. has been building quality custom equipment for over 20 years. It began with two brothers, Fred Weening and Ron Weening who had both worked for several years maintaining and fabricating equipment for a local farm and vegetable packing operation. In late 1985 they decided to go into business for themselves fabricating equipment mainly for the farm and produce industry.
The summer of 1990 brought another large contract to build a complete carrot packing and grading line for a company in Manitoba. This was the last job performed in this shop as the company relocated a few miles away into a 7200 sq’ facility with more office space and a separate room for painting and assembly.
It was shortly after this move that Weening Brothers took on the Thomas Line of Potatoe Harvesting Equipment and a few years later added the Thomas line of Skid Steer loaders as well. With the manufacturing booming and the Thomas dealership expanding again we needed more space.
In the summer of 2000 Fred found a piece of property at the corner of Hwy 400 and 88. This property had great potential to expand both areas of the business. A new building was erected and a new company Trinity Equipment Sales Ltd. was formed to operate as the dealership. Fred Weening took over the task of running Trinity and Ron along with another Brother Jon continued to operate Weening Brothers Mfg. Inc.
The year 2007 brought some significant changes to Weening Brothers. We forged a relationship with WYMA Engineering, a world renouned vegetable equipment design and manufacturing company based out of New Zealand. The addition of their product lines tied to our own allows us to offer our customers a complete range of post-harvest solutions.
During this time we also hired a full-time sales rep to represent both Weening Brothers and WYMA Engineering in the Latin American Market.
Today Weening Brothers Mfg. Inc. has a staff of experienced fitter welders, millwrights, machine operators and an in house design / engineering staff. We have branched into several other industries outside of vegetable equipment but maintain this as a large portion of our business today. Our shop is equipped with shearing, brakeforming, CNC plasma and flame cutting capabilities along with mig, tig, and stick welding, a machine shop and large paint booth.
