Submersion Tank & ConveyorOften times when product is fed into a wash line directly out of the field it is beneficial to first feed it into a water tank to eliminate the bulk of the loose dirt. This is where a submersion tank and discharge conveyor is used. These are available in any size and with several conveyor types to suit each individual operation. Often times a sludge conveyor is used to remove dirt from the floor of the tank. ( back to top ) |

Dirt EliminatorDirt Eliminators are often used in the same application where a submersion tank & conveyor would be used. The purpose of a dirt eliminator is exactly that, to eliminate loose dirt, often before the washing process. There are several types of star fingers available on a dirt eliminator for use with various types of produce. The advantage of a dirt eliminator is that a conveyor or collection bin can be used to catch any dirt removed making is easy to discard. Dirt Eliminators are also available in a wide variety of sizes to suit individual requirements. ( back to top )

Sponge DryerSponge dryers are used often times in fruit or vegetable lines to remove excess water after a washing process. Although they are referred to as a dryer they do not entirely dry the product. Sponge dryers are often used prior to a submersion treatment to reduce diluting the treatment solution. They are also ideal for eliminating moisture damage to paper bags used in the packaging process. Adjustable ringer rollers are mounted below the sponges to increase their effectiveness by eliminating excess water from the sponges. ( back to top ) |
